Many thanks for your detailed instructions on “Windows delayed write failed”.
After installing external HDD (Sata 120 gb in external casing) today everything was fine TILL i tried to defrag the partitions on the external drive. Everything went bersek and kept getting message “Windows delayed write failed”.
Followed your instructions and now everyting is fine.
    Thanks a lot oncemore.
    Regards
    Nariman

P.S> I am afraid to defrag the partitions on the external drive.

Absolutely brilliant solution why could not Microsoft incorporate this little program is beyond me, Heartfelt thanks to you for sharing this solution.
I have a external 250G Samsung on and external Transcend housing (Light-speed) and started to have this problem when I first started to defrag the hard drive ever since I kept getting this error when opening or saving media files (for which the hard-drive is used exclusively)
    I wish you well

Hey there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was trying to use nifty folder synchronization utility, called “Beyond Compare”, and began getting “… Delayed write failed” errors. After running this utility, I’m not getting the errors… My computer seems to be running faster also… But this may just be my imagination. I’m making a donation.

Cacheset seems to have solved the problem for me. I back up all of my MP3s every couple of months to an external drive and it’s been timing out when moving mass amounts of files at once. I don’t get the delayed write error when just playing back from the drive but I do when I do transfers. It’s a great Seagate drive that I just enclosed in a cheap generic firewire drive container from MicroCenter. It’s a little slow now that I’m throttling the cache but at least it’s working!
