If you ever heard about Microsoft (the maker of Windows and a full bundle of problems attached to it), and if you have already heard about Conficker, or also called Downup, Downadup or Kido, I suppose that you’ve already taken steps on protecting yourself and your friends from this computer worm (or computer virus as some may call it!).

About Conficker:
On October 23, 2008, Microsoft released a critical security update, MS08-067, to resolve a vulnerability in the Server service of Windows that, at the time of release, was facing targeted, limited attack. The vulnerability could allow an anonymous attacker to successfully take full control of a vulnerable system through a network-based attack, the sort of vectors typically associated with network “worms.” Since the release of MS08-067, the Microsoft Malware Protection Center (MMPC) has identified two variants of Win32/Conficker in the wild to date:
- Worm:Win32/Conficker.A: identified by the MMPC on November 21, 2008
- Worm:Win32/Conficker.B: identified by the MMPC on December 29, 2008

Coco – Le nouveau film de Gad Elmaleh
Gad Elmaleh, le 4ieme comédien le plus aimer en France, vient de réaliser son premier film après deux ans de travail. Gad le comédien Marocain-Français, a fait un grand succès dans sa carriere. Les plus connues ‘One Man Show’ de Gad sont “La Vie Normale” , “L’autre c’est moi”, et le tout dernier, “Papa est en haut”.

How a bot sees your website?
This time, I’ll write about SEO, i.e. Search Engine Optimization.
First of all let’s agree on one point, we should build websites for people, not bots, but people find us through bots.
So keeping in mind to build “useful and good content“, let’s see how a bot sees your website?
First of all, for some people who are completely new to the topic, a bot is a kinda program (or software) used by search engines to browse the Internet and saves all the information it can read in the search engine’s index, and bots, basically are Text Browsers, and they read your website, they don’t see it the way humans do!
…So that way search engines know about everything!
Bots travel through websites by following links on one page and jumping back and forth through different pages and websites. You may ask why you should care about a bot (or sometimes called a spider) and the way it sees your website?
The answer is that you should be aware that bots build a search engine’s index and they introduce your website to the index. So your website will appear on the search results of a search engine the way you shown it to the specific bot!
To make your website search engine friendly, you should know few tips.
1- Build websites for people, not for bots.
2- Put the most important content on the top, in the code (html, xhtml, php, asp, etc.).
3- Make a navigation menu and a navigable one!
4- Use formatting styles as headings and bold or italic text where appropriate.
5- Optimize images and use “alt” text for ALL images.
6- Use CSS positionning techniques to place your content on your page.
7- Browse your website with different browsers and on different platforms.
8- Bots are basically TEXT BROWSERS! use a text browser to see how your website look in it. Use Lynx!
You can find Lynx for Windows on my downloads page.
Lynx is easy to use, and there’s a good documentation already built in. But to get you started, once installed, start Lynx, and at the prompt, enter “g” (without the quotation marks) and it will ask you for the URL you want to go to… and you’re good to go!
9- Create strong and complete header meta descriptions and keywords.
10- Choose your page titles carefully and responsibly.
11- Introduce your website to different listing directories.
By providing good and useful information to a bot when it comes to your visit, you will help the search engines to bring you the right visitors and the most important thing is that a visitor will come to you, because he wants to, and not by chance or mistake.
Worst thing which can happen to a visitor is to click on a search result, start to read a site’s text and advertisements all around and at the end say “This is the wrong place! I lost my time!”

After the success Gibni got on the mobile market with all the dear visitors coming from mobile devices, I’ll go one step further and provide free mobile downloads to my dear mobile visitors, and also some posts which will be available only to mobile visitors!
I’m actually working to get free mobile downloads for a lot of devices. And these good stuff go from mobile themes, mobile wallpapers, mobile softwares and applications, mobile games and most important, free mobile ringtones !
There will be software and applications on many topics, ranging from clock and timer tools to GPS applications to internet browsers.

Make money online with your mobile website
I wish you a happy new year 2009!
This year’s first post is about the mobile version of your website/blog. As some of you might know already, Gibni.com has a mobile version which shows up when you access the site (http://www.gibni.com) from a mobile device like your phone.
Gibni detects and recognizes automatically the device you’re using, and serves appropiate content for your screen and device or browser capabilities.
Gibni currently runs on WordPress 2.7, and the mobile version of the site is provided by Mobile Press.
Thanks to this wonderful plugin, Gibni is running very well on mobile devices, and from an admin point of view, there’s no conflict with caching plugins.
Previously I used to have other plugins on Gibni to provide mobile versions of the pages but there were always issues with caching capabilities.
I never thought that Gibni would get mobile visitors, but I was really impressed when I saw the analytics reports for Decembre 2008! The mobile version got around 2500 visitors! And that made me think of developing more features in the mobile sections, and post more articles on mobile subjects and subjects that will be useful to mobile users.
And thankfully, this year starts very well, in just 7 days, the mobile version of Gibni recieved around 600 happy visitors, and growing.
The advantage of Mobile Press, is that you can easily edit the template files and create your own theme or modify the beautiful existing themes. By editing a theme, I added advertisements to the mobile version of Gibni, and let me tell you, it makes a lot more than what I expected it to do!!
I currently run two advertisements on top of the page, one from Google Adsense (adsense for mobile content) and the other one is from Admob.
Google Mobile Adsense is making a lot more money than Admob, and get also a high CTR.
I recommend you start a mobile version of your website or blog (if you haven’t already) and optimize it to rank well by providing unique and useful content and then monetize your mobile pages, you WILL MAKE MONEY!
Other good new is that Gibni continues to grow and makes more and more money online each month. Google Adsense is a good start up program!
